FlantFusion Plant Keto starts with its Good Fats Blend which provides 10 grams and includes Coconut Oil as the main ingredient, with Sunflower Oil Powder and Flaxseed Powder. Conjugated Linoleic Acid is included which is believed to help reduce body fat deposits and improve immune function. MTC Oil Powder is also included, which is useful for weight loss in several ways. It has been shown to release two hormones that promote feelings of fullness. It also helps maintain ketosis for longer. Avocado Fruit Powder is added which has had numerous studies that demonstrate weight loss benefits as well as its ability to decrease bad cholesterol. Sea Buckthorn Fruit Powder is the last ingredient which in recent studies has shown its ability to reduce the storage of fat deposits.
A protein blend which they call their “Satiety Blend” is also included in this product and provides 10 grams of protein from Pea Protein Isolate, Artichoke Protein, Flaxseed Powder, Chia Seed Powder, and Whole Algae Protein. To this, they have also included additional branched-chained amino acids L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Valine, and L-Glutamine.
Two enzymes have been included which are Alpha Galactosidase and Bromelain which is excellent and helping digest protein and occurs naturally in pineapple.
The last inclusion is a Glycemic Blend which includes Banaba Leaf Extract which helps lower blood sugar levels along with Chromium Polynicotinate, which has also been shown to aid with weight loss.
The remaining ingredients include Cocoa Powder and Natural Flavors for the chocolate taste with Sea Salt as a flavor enhancer. Guar Gum Powder, Lucuma Powder, and Yacon Powder are added as stabilizers and to create a creamy texture. Stevia Extract Powder and Monk Fruit Extract Powder are used as sweeteners. And lastly, Silica is added just to help make the product flow easily when poured and for mixability.
Easy Preparation: Add 2 scoops to 10 oz. of chilled water or beverage of your choice in a shaker cup or blender and mix for 5 seconds.
This is a great product that is perfectly balanced but with slightly higher carbs than we would have liked to see.
However, with a plant-based protein, this level of carbs is understandable and the included glycemic blend should help your body deal with those carbs a little better. This product is suitable as a meal replacement, although we would suggest not replacing more than one meal a day. In the case of this product, we believe it would be most effective to use it for your breakfast.
We tried the Rich Chocolate flavor and the taste of this product is truly great. This is not mild milk chocolate or dark bitter chocolate but a perfect balance between the two.
Most Plantfusion chocolate flavors come with a more earthy and nutty flavor which is still pleasant, but in the case of this product, the chocolate was a cleaner flavor. Mixability was also excellent in both almond milk and water, but a little extra shaking was required in water.
As with most of the keto products we review, the protein cost score does not really adequately reflect the value of the product, as ketogenic products are less about overall protein content but the balance of protein to healthy fats.
However, PlantFusions Complete Plant Keto is not cheap. In fact, while this product likely offers the best plant-based ketogenic supplement, its price is equal to the highest we have reviewed to date. That said, if money is no object, this product offers the best quality plant-based option on the market.
We like PlantFusion products, which tend to cleverly combine all the tech that nature has to offer with a specific goal in mind. This product is no different and for us, the only major let down was the cost, which is a bit higher than we would like. However, that cost is still going to be lower than any meal you would likely replace with this PlantFusion shake. Carbs were also a bit higher than we would like, but as expected from a plant-based product. The taste was also excellent, so if you’re not short on cash then this product may well be worth a try to start your keto diet mornings.
