We’re always excited to check out a new PlantFusion product and Inspire for Women grabbed our attention straight away with its shiny purple coat and its 18grams of protein per serve. So take a look at what we found!
Inspire provides a pretty decent protein punch with 18 grams of protein from a blend of Pea Protein Isolate, Artichoke Protein, Chia Seed Protein, and Whole Algae Protein. The carb content is mainly made up of fiber in this product with just 2 grams of digestible carbs. Fats are pretty low at 3 grams, but from what we can tell, at least half of that are good fats worth having in your diet. All this makes this a pretty good product for not only toning up but keeping the weight down.
On top of their Complete Protein Blend, they have added what they call their Energy and Metabolism Support Blend. This includes an array of a few branched-chain amino acids as well as MCT Oil (Medium Chain Triglycerides) which are all the rage right now. MCT oil has been shown to promote ketosis which is when your body enters a fat-burning state. It also provides a longer feeling of fullness and can also assist with the production of healthy bacteria in your gut. In addition, they have also added Alpha Galactosidase which is an enzyme that is especially good at breaking down plant-based foods. Especially ones like the pea protein which is the main component of this powder. Bromelain has also been added which is an enzyme commonly found in pineapple and has the unique ability to help rapidly digest proteins.
A Hormonal Balance Support Blend is also included, the theory being that this blend can provide a greater feeling of wellbeing as well as improved energy. This blend includes Ashwagandha Extract which has been shown to help boost focus and reduce anxiety and stress by reducing cortisol levels. It’s also been shown in studies to lower blood sugar levels. L-Theanine has also been added and it has been shown to help promote relaxation without feeling drowsy. The last addition to this blend is Pomegranate Extract, Pomegranate Skin, and Pomegranate powder. Pomegranate has been shown in some studies to lower blood pressure, inflammation and joint pain. It has also been shown to help fight bacterial and fungal infections such as Candida (thrush).
The other ingredients included are mainly for flavor and sweetening. Natural Flavors are included, which in our case provide the vanilla taste. They have also added Stevia Extract and Monk Fruit Extract to add sweetness. Lucuma Powder and Yacon Powder has been added also, partly for sweetness but also for a creamy texture. Silica is added partly just to help the powder flow when you poor it, but also as an aid to mixing.
It’s always a little harder to talk about effectiveness with these kinds of products that include additional approaches to protein delivery.
Protein is not the one and only consideration, but the content of this powder provides an excellent hit of protein with the added benefits of enzymes. These enzymes help you digest proteins rapidly and put them to work when most needed. We actually believe this powder makes an excellent choice for active women, athletes or even those that wish to lose a little weight.
Unlike many other vegan products, PlantFusions balance of ingredients seem to always compliment their flavors for a more natural and earthy result.
We tried the vanilla with this product and while you may not call it a crisp french vanilla, it was very pleasant with caramel notes likely coming from the monk fruit extract. It’s a fine powder and blends very well into both water and almond milk for a slightly creamy and smooth texture. Inspire only comes in two flavors, Rich Chocolate and Creamy Vanilla Bean.
While this is certainly not the cheapest Vegan or Women’s protein powder on the market, it’s roughly medium-priced but has a lot to offer!
We think it’s pretty good value given the thought that has gone into this unique blend. You would be hard-pressed to find another vegan product with this complex balance of ingredients.
This is another clever product from PlantFusion and at the time of writing this review, it was definitely at the top of our recommendations for those seeking a protein powder designed for women. This product provides decent protein content along with additions which should provide improvements to anxiety & stress levels, mental focus, weight control, and lean muscle development.
Yes, it’s not the cheapest option on the market, but its probably one of the best value offerings if you consider what’s packed inside.
