Now Sports Whey Isolate has been a popular budget choice for years, but is it still the best budget option? Find out in our review!
Now Sports Whey Protein Isolate provides 25 grams of protein in each 32gram serve, with 0.5 grams of fat and 0.5 grams of net carbs. That’s pretty impressive for a budget-priced protein. It contains a pure Whey Protein Isolate as its source with very little added.
For a sweetener, they have used a combination of Organic Stevia Leaf Extract and Xylitol. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol that is perfectly safe for humans, but be careful as it can be quite deadly for your pet dog.
Natural Vanilla Flavor has been used in the case of our product. Xanthan Gum is included as a thickening agent. This provides a slightly creamy texture in the absence of any fat content. Lastly, Sunflower Lecithin is used to help make this product quickly mix into your favorite beverage.
Surprisingly, that’s it! We expected a cheaper product to likely include a range of artificial ingredients but not in the case of this product which is a lot more natural than we expected. The one thing we would like to see though would be some digestive enzymes but of course, this would raise the price.
Add 1 level scoop daily to 8 oz. of cold water, milk, or your favorite juice. Stir or blend.
This is a pretty effective protein isolate with virtually no net carbs or fat which makes it ideal for building lean muscle.
Our only wish might be the inclusion of some digestive enzymes, but they are hardly necessary.
This product comes Unflavored or in a Creamy Chocolate or Creamy Vanilla. Both flavors have always received good feedback from buyers and we can understand why.
We’ve tried both flavors and while not mind-blowing, they are the kind of flavor that keeps you coming back for more. The chocolate is a mild milk chocolate without any bitterness or aftertaste. The vanilla is a pleasant and slightly sweet taste which makes it well suited to be used as a base for your own flavor to be added on top.
This product mixed quickly into both milk and water without much effort at all.
There is no denying this product is cheap! In fact, it is among the absolute cheapest protein isolates we have ever reviewed.
However, it’s not just inexpensive but offers excellent value. For the price of this protein, we would normally expect a lower quality concentrate with artificial additives which is certainly not the case here.
Now Sports Whey Protein Isolate just goes to show that you don’t need to spend a lot to get great results. With dependable flavors and a quality high protein, its easy to see why this is is a favorite of so many people. If you don’t want anything too fancy, then Now Sports offers is a great option to consider. Is it the best budget option? There are some cheaper with artificial ingredients, but this is the best natural option we know of at the time of writing this review.
