MyProtein Impact Whey is a quality protein powder designed to support muscle growth and recovery for fitness enthusiasts and athletes alike. It contains 19g of protein per serving, derived from whey protein concentrate. The powder is available in a wide range of flavors and is generally considered to be pretty good on taste. Not bad on price, but lets take a closer look.
MyProtein Impact Whey Protein's nutritional profile actually varies quite a bit across its flavor range, so for the purpose of this review we are just looking at just the Chocolate Smooth flavor.
It's made with a quality whey protein concentrate that provides 19g of protein per 24g serve. Its whey concentrate is a good source of essential amino acids and BCAAs for muscle building and recovery. However, a concentrate is the least processed and slowest digesting form of whey protein. But, it does have the added benefit of being both inexpensive and does include additional minerals that are often filtered out of whey isolates. However, it does also mean it contains higher carb and fat content and is a slower digesting form of protein. This may make it less effective when timing your protein intake after a workout.
If you need an isolate though, MyProtein does have an "Impact Whey Isolate" product available for a lower-carb and faster-digesting protein source. This product though is really designed to be a lower-cost compromise that offers pretty good value. The real downside to this products ingredient list, however, is that it does contain artificial flavors and sweeteners we would rather avoid where possible.
Add 1 scoop (25g) to 150-250ml of water or milk 30 minutes before and/or after your workout.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
MyProtein Impact Whey Protein is a good choice for individuals looking to build muscle and support post-workout recovery.
With its reasonably high protein content, it provides the necessary amino acids for muscle growth and repair. Additionally, the product mixes well and is easy to digest, which makes it an effective and convenient supplement.
We tried the Chocolate Smooth flavor of MyProtein Impact Whey Protein, and I have to say that the taste was decent but not exceptional. It tasted like chocolate, but it was not very sweet, and the flavor was not very strong. However, the product mixed pretty well, and it had a smooth and creamy texture.
MyProtein Impact Whey Protein is a good value-for-money protein supplement. This is most likely due to the lower-cost concentrate form of whey used in this product that allows for a pretty affordable price.
The product is priced competitively compared to other whey protein supplements in the market, and it offers a good balance between quality, effectiveness, and taste.
While I was not blown away by the flavor I tried, it was decent enough and the product does offer an affordable option that offers comparatively good value. My main criticism would be the artificial ingredients that I would rather avoid where possible. Overall, the product provides decent value for money for those that wish to save a few dollars and it would provide a good product for those starting out in adding a protein supplement to their workout routine.
