PlantFusion Complete Meal delivers 20grams of protein, 9grams of net carbs and 7grams of fat in a huge 45.5g serve. As is customary with PlantFusions products, this powder is packed with a huge number of natural ingredients to build a tailored product towards a specific goal. But what is that goal?

In the case of Complete Meal, the major protein source is Pea Protein Isolate. They have also included Artichoke Leaf, Organic Amaranth, Organic Quinoa, and Algae Protein. This is a pretty standard blend found in other PlantFusion products and provides the 44% digestible protein volume of the product.

PlantFusion ModCarb is included, which is an all-organic blend of Oat Bran, Amaranth, Buckwheat, Millet, Quinoa, and Chia. This contributes substantial levels of carbs to this product, but also includes a good level of fiber with 6grams in a serve.

Orgen Vitamin and Mineral Blend is included in this product which contains Guava Extract, Lemon Extract, Amla Extract, Sesbania Extract, Holy Basil Extract, and Annatto Extract. Together these help provide a huge number of vitamins and minerals including vitamin A, B6, B12, C, D, E, calcium, potassium, iron, niacin, phosphorus, selenium, magnesium, chromium and zinc. We would have liked to see higher levels of iron and calcium which are generally harder for vegans to obtain and are only provided at 2% of recommended daily intake.

A blend of branch-chained amino acids are added that includes L-isoleucine, L-leucine, L-valine, and L-glutamine.

PlantFusion has included a couple of useful digestive enzymes. Alpha Galactosidase is an enzyme that is especially good a breaking down plant-based material. The enzyme Bromelain is also included which is excellent at helping digest protein. Inulin is also included which can help promote good bacteria growth in the lower intestine.

Sunflower Seed Oil Powder is included and provides Omega-6. Flax Seed Oil Powder helps with digestive health and can lower blood sugar levels.  Baobab Fruit Powder is rich in vitamins but also helps you feel fuller longer.  D3 lichen powder which provides vitamin D3. Aditional greens such as Broccoli Whole Plant Powder, Cabbage Leaf Powder, Kale Leaf Powder, Mustard Seed Powder, and Watercress Herb Powder are also added. These are a vitamin and mineral-rich blend of greens that are packed with antioxidants.

The last ingredients are mainly added for taste and sweetness. For the Chocolate Caramel flavor, this includes Cocoa and Natural Flavors. For sweetness, they have used a combination of Stevia Leaf Extract, Erythritol and Monk Fruit Extract Powder. There is one last ingredient which is Silica which is just used to help the powder flow and mix a little easier.

We were a little confused by this product at first. Most meal replacement protein powders are designed with weight loss in mind, but we don’t think that this product best serves that goal. This powder seems more about providing a more energy-rich meal replacement for vegans on the go. Complete Meal offers a quick to prepare and nutrient-rich shake to keep you going when you don’t have time to prepare a meal.

While it will help keep weight down and make you feel fuller for longer, it does contain reasonable levels of carbs. If you’re seeking a weight loss meal replacement option, then there are better products on the market with this goal in mind. PlantFusion has an excellent product of their own for this goal called Complete Lean.

While there may be some weight loss benefit for this product, its basically just a meal shake with a good balance for those looking to ensure good nutrition while on the go.

It’s no surprise that this product is tasty, as with most PlantFusion products we’ve tried. We were especially keen to try this chocolate caramel flavor which was great and tasted more of a milk chocolate with caramel overtones.

It was a little bit less sweet when compared with their chocolate flavors in other PlantFusiuon products. That was pleasing to us as we tend to find protein powders a bit overly sweet at times. Mixability was great and with a nice texture, but perhaps not quite as smooth as we have had with their other products.

Value to you personally may vary based on your individual goals, however, we think this product is well priced for just how much goes into the product.

You will likely find it hard to get another product as complex as those that come from PlantFusion. However, if you are looking for a product for athletic performance or weight loss, there are better products even from PlantFusion to meet these goals.
