Dymatize is a well established company selling a huge range of supplements, the most well known of which is its ISO100 brand of hydrolyzed whey. Basically they take whey isolate, which is already highly refined with very low fat and take it up a notch by pre-digesting the isolate. They use special enzymes which break down some of the peptide bonds it produces a product which is virtually fat and carb free. On top of that, because it is "pre-digested", the amino acids can be absorbed by your body more rapidly.
So why wouldn't you select a hydrolyzed whey over an isolate? Cost! All that extra processing with special enzymes, orften comes with a hefty price tag. This makes plain whey isolate better bang for your buck. Whats different about ISO100 by Dymatize, is that it is pretty darn cheap for a hydrolyzed whey.
Sure its still not as cheap as most isolates, but if you're an athlete this may be a better choice for you!

One 32 gram scoop of ISO100 contains 25 grams of protein, only 2 grams of carbs and 0.5 grams of fat. Thats very very low on the carb and fat count, and for good reason. This product is mainly Hydrolyzed Whey, which is the first ingredient listed. There is also some non-hydrolyzed Whey Isolate, so its not a 100% hydrolyzed product. The combination of this whey content adds up to about 11.8 grams of Essential Amino Acids, 6.8 grams of Conditionally Essential Amino Acids (including Glutamine) and 6.5 grams of non-Essential Amino Acids.
Dymatize ISO100 has a very lean ingredient list and apart from the actual whey protein content, the powder mainly contains flavour additives. As with most protein powders, it also includes Soy Lecithin for mixability. Potassium Chloride is added as both a mineral and to improve mixability, texture and to enhance flavor. Lastly, Sucralose is added as an artificial sweetener. In some flavours we noted that Steviol Glycosides, better known as "Stevia" is used as a sweetener. But thats really all!
While there are no particularly nasty ingredients, there is nothing much added to provide any additional benefit. However what is added to the product is high quality Hydrolyzed Whey and you couldn't really ask for more!
Of all the powders we have tried, ISO100 would be up there with the best when it comes to mixability. It mixes really well into both milk and water with a smooth texture. This is probably one of the few protein powders we think mixes pretty well in water when generally we find they only really mix well into milk.
As with mixability, this powder tastes great in milk as well as water. We have tried both Gourmet Vanilla and Gourmet Chocolate which was our favorite. Both were quite sweet, and if anything the vanilla was a tiny bit too sweet for us. The chocolate was a very pleasant and smooth flavour that was not overpowering. Even when mixed with water, it created a very pleasant and smooth textured drink.
Not everyone needs to spend big money on a hydrolyzed product, but if you're an athlete this is definitely one worth considering. If ensuring amino acids rapidly reach your muscles is important to you, then this quality product delivers what you need for a very competitive price. Especially when you source from somewhere like Amazon where we found it at almost half its recommended retail price. Its extremely mixable, great tasting in water or milk and has almost no fat or carbs to worry about. We really like this product!
